User Interface in LibreOffice super small after changing my monitor resolution and weird spinny curosor

So I'm new and quite happy so far. But after I got my monitor resolution set correctly, the UI elements in LibreOffice are very small. The icons under the dropdown menus are really only about 3mm x 4mm. In the spreadsheet program it defaults to showing me 99 rows and columns from A to BI. I have searched through all the options in LO trying to change the UI scale and I'm stumped. Kerbal Space Program did this too, but I found internal options to correct it all.

Earlier today my pointed started having a spinny animation moving around it. I cannot find any reason that it would be doing that. I'm going to shut down everything one by one and logoff and back on and then reboot to see if any of those steps changes the pointer. Obviously the first question is a bigger concern.

the cursor is probably a theme change you made, suggest going back to breeze and staying there until your system is under control

monitor scaling or incorrect settings can also introduce many levels of weirdness, suggest going back to defaults and standard display resolutions first before trying to delve too much into why fonts are too small

but you can also change system font sizes (individually or as a group) in settings > fonts
