Yes, most of the time it works well. But i've checked about a thousand links and with 20-40 I saw those problems. So most of the time you won't notice it. It's only a hint for if you have problems with a http-link in combination with HTTPS Everywhere. Took me a lot of time to find out why those sites did strange things.

I've not seen those problems with HTTSP Everywhere. It either converts the URL or it does not, but I get to view the site at the URL.

Just for information: I had problems with HTTPS Everywhere.
If the site can use https and is configured well, even if you use a link with http it will be directed to https. But quite a lot of sites don't do this. HTTPS Everywhere is meant for those sites. It tries https, and if that can be used, it switches http to https.
But some sites are so stupid configured that when HTTPS Everywhere tries https the sites accepts it, but can't use it. The result: an empty screen, or very strange errors, server codes that make no sense, etc. HTTPS Everywhere is okay, the sites are wrong configured.
If a site can't handle https, it should simply refuse it and not say 'welcome' and then start shouting bad words at you.
So if you use HTTPS Everywhere (on a link with http) and the site does not load or something like that, you can try to disable HTTPS Everywhere.

(I have a page bit a LOT of links. I used HTTPS Everywhere to see if that sites are using https already. That's when I found out it gives quite often problems. I changed to disabling HTTPS Everywhere and once a month or so enabling it and checking if a link can be changed to https. If a site then does strange things, I know it can have to do something with this.)

It does no harm for the link to be http there, but just to be tidy and correct...

It looks like you do the work-around and edit the config file to use HTTPS. No telling how long this might take to be edited on the developers side and added to the repository as a patch.

Does it not work if you use HTTPS?

Does using HTTPS-Everywhere browsers script add-on "fix" this?
