I have a Problem on my kubuntu 25.04, which I had for a few different versions now.
When I boot up my system and the Login screen appears, it seems to be a fake. I can type in a password, it will recognize if the password is correct. If the password is correct, it will load a black screen with only my mouse pointer visible.
After approximately 5 minutes, the Login screen shows again and, given the password is correct, this time it will load into the OS.
As far as I remember, the problem first appeared for me with 22.04 LTS.
There are several solutions for similar problems online, for far older versions of different Linux OSs, some for KDE as well, but none of them work. Mostly because the files that caused those other problems don't exist anymore.
I did discover something through those failed attempts , which is why I call the first Login a fake.
Aside from some weird graphical glitches (dual monitor in wrong order, Login prompt duplicated on second monitor) I can't do the "CTRL + ALT + Fx" on the fake screen, but I can on the second Login screen.
Everything GUI works normally, the buttons for virtual keyboard, switch from user-list to type-in user prompt, etc. work all as intended (as far as I can tell).
So it appears to me, as a noob, that that first Login doesn't load properly or something. I first was concerned about malware of sorts (I came from windows), but I found no information online about any malware with that behavior.
Does anybody have an idea what could have caused, and maybe has a solution for this?
Thanks in advance.
