Monitor won't turn back on after the lid is closed.

I'm using Edgy Eft (Which may be the problem) so I didn't know where else to put this thread, sorry if it's in the wrong forum.

I can't figure it out, if I close the lid while the laptop is running, and then reopen it, the monitor has power but stays black. Any ideas?

you could try ctrl+alt+backspace to see if logging out will help, or even change the configurations to keep the screen on when closed. I know I don't have this problem with Hardy, so you may just want to upgrade! You can just do a fresh install, which may be the easiest, or you can use

    Code:
    sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
Be sure to backup anything important to you, config files, personal files, game saves, bookmarks, whatever.
