I've been having lots (several a day) of crashes mostly by plasmashell but sometimes kwin.I'm hoping plasma 7, which is supposed to contain lots of bug fixes, will fix those.

Do you mean Plasma 6.7?
This is slated for release on Tuesday.
It should be in neon within a few days, if it isn't out immediately. Pretty much as soon as it can be built, and any problems there can be resolved.
I see pieces being built or in the queue on the build server.Self-built: Asus PRIME B550M-K/Ryzen 5600GT/32Gb/Intel ARC B580 12Gb/KDE neon
HP Elitedesk 800 G3 Mini: i5-7500T(35w)/32Gb/Kubuntu LTS
HP Chromebook 14: i5-1135G7/8Gb/512Gb SSD/KDE Linux

I'd suggest booting to one of the previous kernel builds in Grub, just to check it isn't a driver issue. There haven't been any plasma-related updates in the past ~week iirc, but there was an Ubuntu kernel security update.Self-built: Asus PRIME B550M-K/Ryzen 5600GT/32Gb/Intel ARC B580 12Gb/KDE neon

Yes, I meant 6.7, and it's corrected now. I've been having these problems for at least 2 months now.
By driver issue, do you mean the eternal quandary about Nvidia vs nouveau?
Does this mean I am running nouveau (what I usually want) or nvidia?$ ubuntu-drivers devices
udevadm hwdb is deprecated. Use systemd-hwdb instead.

P.S.I can't find driver manager in system settings.Last edited by joneall; Today, 01:46 AM.'I must have a prodigious quantity of mind; it takes me as much as a week sometimes to make it up.' Mark Twain

No idea, I thought it was only a few days, so I went by what the most recent updates were. if it has been going on longer, then your thought on Plasma updates is much more valid.Originally posted by joneall View PostBy driver issue, do you mean the eternal quandary about Nvidia vs nouveau?
Neon does not come with Ubuntu/Kubuntu's driver manager GUI. (install software-properties-qt if you want the Software Sources tool that provides the driver manager, though it won't be added to System Settings)Originally posted by joneall View PostP.S.I can't find driver manager in system settings.
It seems so. You won't have Nvidia unless you explicitly installed it yourself.Originally posted by joneall View PostDoes this mean I am running nouveau (what I usually want) or nvidia?Self-built: Asus PRIME B550M-K/Ryzen 5600GT/32Gb/Intel ARC B580 12Gb/KDE neon
