    [SOLVED] Gpodder only works one

    Hi,

I use Gpodder for some years to download podcasts every 6 months or so. I put them on a USB stick and listen to them in the car.
Now I wanted to use it again, so I went logged into gpodder.net and put my podcasts in gpodder.
OK, gpodder starts downloading, so far so good.
I stop gpodder and shut down my laptop.
Next time I power up my pc, I want gpodder to continue downloading podcasts, but it starts empty (see attached screenshot)
My podcast list is not there, and nearly all menu items are grayed out. those that are not grayed out, do not work.
Reinstalling Gpodder does not help, removing it, including settings & downloads and re-installing it, makes it work once again
What could be the cause of this and how to solve it ?

I got some help on the Gpodder github page.

It turns out that the reason why Gpodder acts so strange, is that my locale settings were not correct.
By default, KDE neon sets the locale for Belgium and language dutch (nl) wrong, because the dates are displayed in german.
I already notified this as a bug, but the developpers rejected it.
Now it turns out that this bug also impacts the correct working of Gpodder.

the output of the command locale gave these errors
      marc@marc-samsung:~$ locale
locale: Cannot set LC_CTYPE to default locale: No such file or directory
locale: Cannot set LC_MESSAGES to default locale: No such file or directory
locale: Cannot set LC_ALL to default locale: No such file or directory

Now I set everything correct manually.
The locale errors are gone, and Gpodder works now.
