[SOLVED] Can no longer type in Japanese

After recovoring from what I thought was a two day cold (it's Covid!) I finally did a fresh install of the
latest KDE Neon ISO.

Everything is fine but I can no longer type in Japanese in Kate or KWrite!

I use fcitx-mozc and switch inputs with the standard Ctrl + Space method. Now when I do that I get his
little pop-up in the editor! (Attached)

I can type Japanese in everything else but those two apps! Has something changed?

I looked through the installed files and installed

fcitx-frontend-qt6

manually it it was fixed!
