Another weird thing is if I choose any other SDDM login screen than the Breeze theme I'm greeted with a weird blue generic login screen with an onscreen keyboard!

I'd suggest filing a bug report, if it is the same bug, it will get marked as a dupe.

In a Wayland session? There is no Open Terminal when I right-click the Desktop in an X11 session.

Another niggle is right-clicking on the desktop and selecting Open Terminal does nothing!

No. That will start your Desktop using Plasma X11. Plasma 6 is now part of KDE neon, and if you had KDE neon upgraded, either with apt-get dist-upgrade or apt full-upgrade, you have Plasma 6.Originally posted by joneall View PostAnd then it will only install fixes for X11?

And then it will only install fixes for X11? In that case, why did it ever install Wayland in the first case. It happened as a result of a dist-upgrade in the previous X11 version.Originally posted by Snowhog View PostAll you have to do is select Plasma (X11) from the SDDM Login Screen. My problems started when I did a dist-upgrade in apt-get. Is there any way I can tell apt-get dist-upgrade to continue with X11 and ignore Wayland? It's really a disaster.

Running X-Plane under Wayland for me is a no-no! There are so many graphical glitches during start-up.
Once you choose a plane and airport it is OK-ish... Moving the mouse makes the screen blank for several
seconds and you can't click anything anyway. So, right now I'm still on X11, where it's OK, except for one
X-Plane crash I had.
I may drop back to Mint Cinnamon until the next point release. I can wait a few weeks.....

I would add that everything is slow. Movement of a window I drag across the display is jerky. And I'm using Plasma11 now.
