Bug fixes are good. Some of the minor changes sound interesting. I do wish they would stop messing with my KMenu though. I just got it sorted again!

What I would like to see is KDE give me apps like Afterburner and CPUZ that allow fine grained tuning of my hardware. Its way too lightweight at the moment. Customization is nice, but control is more important. It would be nice to see if we could kick AMD into making a Ryzen Master like utility for us as well.

My favorite Plasma desktop tool is Dolphin. I gave it a run through and noticed that the right mouse context menu didn't contain a "properties" option, so I couldn't compare the checksum of a download with its value supplied by the source. I installed oshunluver's fine checksum widget from the Dolphin's add widgets option but no checksum option appeared. I checked the Dolphin's "Settings" option, then "Configure Toolbars", then found "properties" in the "Available actions" and moved it to the "Current actions" and positioned it where I wanted it. Now, instead of being an option on the right click context menu I have to select the file and then right click on the "Properties" option in the toolbar panel.

BTW, Dolphin on the 5.26 desktop is an app of beauty!

They haven't really, except for a verrrry long standing request for a resizable Launcher Menu. The main three stock menu styles are still there

The bad thing is, Latte Dock (abandoned by its dev) has finally broken with this plasma upgrade, unless you like windows going under your panels

So I can't have unique panel setups per Activity anymore.

At least for now.

I've been checking Plasmadesktop 5.26 all afternoon and evening. I've noticed that there are hesitancies when starting apps, or opening a new tab on my brave browser, and just about any other task I use. Checking the systemd logs I find it flooded with warning entries like these:

The system doesn't crash but the heavy use of systemd log causes random stuttering of the system.

Also, one of my apps requires python3-wxgtk4.2 and only the 4.0 version is in Neon after the upgrade. The cPickle module isn't available.
So, I found a replacement.

No, I don't believe so, just some package renaming/re-shuffling/merging I believe. Or the libraries that these packages used to have were.
Though I am not seeing this on my system.

BUT: if you have /etc/apt/preferences.d/98-jammy-overrides as well as a 99-jammy one, remove 98-jammy-overrides and update again.
Not sure if this might be an issue or not for you, but they did make changes since I upgraded to Jammy (earlier than most), and I wasn't able to get Plasma 5.26 initially because of the conflicting preferences.

Also, check 99jammy-overrides file for anything referencing lcms2, which is what was causing the problems to begin with. it shouldn't

Someone in matrix is having a suspiciously similar apt output to yours, though not quite the same.
Actually, it is the identical output to yours. The extra packages he has are phased.

He had the 98-jammy-overrides file, so he removed that file, updated, and all was good, those 5 held packages were upgraded properly.
