    login problems

Tip for anyone having problems starting a window manager from the gui login. (i.e. you put in your user name and password, KDE tries to start, dumps you back to the login screen. It is the same form the command prompt too.) Check to see if you have any free disk space. I had this problem, tried everything found in the forums nothing worked. Login in recovery mode, searched around found my .local/share/Trash/files was up to 90 gigs deleted it all. Rebooted and started KDE perfectly!
Hope this helps someone out, it took me all day to figure this out. lol

    Peace

And the way to learn how much free disk space you have is: from a console, for example the Grub recovery mode, type "df -h" this will give you disk free space values in "human readable" terms, (kB, MB, GB instead of blocks). You can try that command from a KDE konsole and empty your trash before you run into trouble.
