I suspect that some programs marked "unsupported" are mostly likely supported, but the necessary meta-data was not added to the package.

Ran the same here and can say different from yours at least on the Can Not/No Longer Downloadable. Those listed all seem to be a part of NEON as the majority are all KDE related. In appearance now can't say 100%.

It's venture to guess that all those unsupported packages are from the "universe" section and really are unsupported by Ubuntu from the beginning. Most are automagically imported from Debian and a few are maintained by volunteers (MOTU) but are completely unsupported by Ubuntu.


If you notice in some package managers there are little Ubuntu or kubuntu icons to the left on some packages but not on others, the ones with the icons are official supported maintained-by-Ubuntu packages
