Howto: Configure Kmail as default mailer in Firefox

Firefox uses evolution as it's default mailer. You can change it to Kmail (or as a matter of fact any other mailer) by doing the following:

Open Firefox, clear the "http://...." field, write about:config and press <enter>.
You will then have a page with all the internal settings of firefox.
Right click on that page, you will have a menu. Choose the option New->Character chain
On the prompt field write:

network.protocol-handler.app.mailto

Click Ok and again Ok on the next screen. The new config parameter as been created.

Now to give it a value:

Scroll down t'ill you find the newly created field and right click on it. You'll have another menu, choose the option Modify and when prompted for a value write kmail (or whatever else you use as mailer).
Then just click OK and it's done.

CTRL-T for a new tab, and you can switch back and forth from this set of directions to the window to actually make the changes also.
