Livestation to watch major (mainly news) TV channels in Kubuntu

    Thanks to linuxowns at http://linuxowns.wordpress.com/2008/.../#comment-1338
whose clear directions I have only slightly adjusted for Kubuntu Hardy Heron
    ---------------------------------------------
Livestation is an app that will allow you to watch major tv channels (mostly news channels) from around the world from your desktop.

    Browse to the site
    http://www.livestation.com/downloads...=home_download
and download the linux installer (I downloaded to Desktop)

In Dolphin, right-click the installer, go to properties and in the permissions tab, enable "is executable".

In Konsole, cd to where the downloaded file is (in my case Desktop).
Type (don't forget the initial dot)
    ./Livestation-[version].run

    (Currently that would be; ./Livestation-2.1.0.run)

Press “q” on keyboard to skip the readme.
When prompted, press “y” a few times and enter your password when asked for it.

Installation should only take a few seconds.
Launch using launcher (alt+F2): livestation. YOu will be asked to register with an email address and password, and to agree to terms.

Edit K-menu and add a new entry under “internet” or “sound & video” for livestation.
    That’s it.

I don't use Compiz Fusion, but this is what linuxowns adds:
The interface is a bit glitchy when you are running Compiz Fusion.

I suggest you go to “applications -> add/remove” and install the “compiz fusion icon”. Launch it from “applications -> system tools -> compiz fusion icon” and set your Windows Manager to “Metacity”.
