isn't firefox installed by default? check K -> Internet -> Firefox Web Browser
    if not, either type
    Code:
    sudo aptitude install firefox
in konsole (K -> Run Command -> konsole) , or use the Adept Package Manager

for flash plugin check this ; it's useful for setting up many other things beside flash

You should use a program called "Adept manager" to install software.

It's in the Sistema submenu if you are using a spanish kubuntu.

You should go to "Manage repositories/Administrar Repositorios", enable all the repositories there (check the crosses). Clik OK.

Back in the main adept window, select "Comprobar actualizaciones".

Now search for the programs that you want to install (firefox, flashplayer-nonfree), and mark then for installation.

      Click on install all.

      And that's all.

      Javier.

          Welcome to linux .

Three answers, all correct, all will leave your system in the same status (well, at least about firefox, last answer will add another program to it).

To sumarize it up: use a package manager to install software, be it adept, synaptic, apt or any other.

            Ok, wrong answer .

            It shoul dread:

Use the package manager (apt) or any user-friendly front-end to it that you feel comfortable, like adept, synaptic, aptitude, etc...

As UnicornRider has pointed me, it's quite important to knew the difference between apt/dpkg and a front-end. Specially when problems arise.
