    The Mozilla cursor problem

I imagine most have noticed this, in Firefox and Thunderbird no matter what mouse theme you have set, the mouse cursor always shows up as the black system cursors. This bugs the living crap out of me because I have such a nice set of cursors otherwise.

I've found a couple of threads relating to the same problem with SUSE:

    http://forums.suselinuxsupport.de/in...opic=19374&hl=
    http://www.suseforums.net/index.php?showtopic=16484

    And this bug is mentioned:

    https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=114770

As well as a patch for X that should fix it. Is there a way to patch this on Kubuntu? I tried the couple of suggestions in the aforementioned threads, but nothing is working.

      Re: The Mozilla cursor problem

it was my problem too but i solved in this way:

the problem is that the cursor theme for firefox, amule and thunderbird is followed in
      $home/.icons/default/cursors/

so I replace the undesired theme with my default for X that is located in
      /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/icons/mydefaulttheme

to find it i have used gcursor and follow the directory
I use Aqua-Nuke that is built by me .....if you're interested

      sorry for my english!

yhotg - I did try that one, it didn't work.

vanaedium - YES! Copying my cursor theme into that directory solved the problem! I can't believe it. Thank you SO much!

Edit: Well, it mostly works. The waiting cursor is the plain black, but close enough for me!

And hope you don't mind, but I posted this in the how-to section on Ubuntuforums, giving you credit at the beginning. I had been searching for this answer and wanted to make sure others saw it as well.

By the way, it looks like the "waiting" cursor thing was just the theme I was using. I've switched and everything looks perfect.

          Thanks again!

Really? Did you copy the theme file and any "cursors" directory to the new location? Or have you restarted KDE yet?

                  i don't have /cursors/ under /etc/X11/
                  and less a core.theme file.
