kaffeine part not found

when i run kaffeine -w, i get: Part not found. Please check your installation!
what's this all about?
i also can't play .mp3's DVD, or pretty much anything
what's goin' on?

Have you installed the gstreamer0.8-plugins packages?

sudo apt-get install gstreamer0.8-plugins

It's in universe.

now kaffeine and amaroK freeze when i try to play mp3s and kaffeine still complains about "Part not found"
