    HEEELPP - SU

    I can't use the command "su".....It doesn't work

    When appear "password:" I can't write anything!


    Please someone help me!

    Hi,

    you should use "sudo sh"
    su shouldn't be configured as the root password shouldn't be set.

        All in favour of the next Kubuntu release moving back to the more traditional root password approach for sudo - if only to halve the problems new users have - please raise your hand now...

          I'll never raise my hand to that.

          It makes sense to have users be administrators or not administrators with the one safeguard being a password so that they don't accidentally ruin things.

          It makes less sense to create a separate "do everything" account you have to log into separately.

          Ubuntu and Mac OS X both use sudo, and that's what I love about them.
