Wireless assistant: claims connection failed although connected!

    Hello there,

This looks like an important UI bug. It lost me a lot of time today, trying to connect to the wireless network at home.

Although I've now connected to the wireless network, the wireless assistant insistently tells me that the connection has failed, and asks me if I would like to review the settings.

    What is going on here?

    Best,

The maintainer closed similar bugs, most notably 67020, but I see no evidence that this bug has been fixed.

    The version I'm using is:
    exa@pulsar:~$ wlassistant -v
    Qt: 3.3.6
    KDE: 3.5.2
    Wireless Assistant: 0.5.5

Does anybody else have the same problem?

Yup, I had this problem until I got my router; now everything stalls at 28%, ****ing ace, now I'm having to use Windows as Linux has become unusable.

@Auisce: I suggest starting a thread in an appropriate location for your problem. In that thread, please provide any error messages that you get or other information that would help someone help you.

I think I know what does this. It's caused by having a firewall without enabling "ping". Try running wlassistant from the command line and I bet that's what you'll see.
