A safer option would be to run the daily build of 20.20 on a VM (I use Qemu VMM) and do all the updates. I usually do that so I can see whether I want to upgrade to the next version of Kubuntu or not. 20.10 is now using Plasma 5.19.2 and it's also interesting to see how the project progresses.
