Suggestion to be wary about Linux Tracker

I was watching TuxDigital's weekly video and at 29:16 into the video he talks about a site called Linux Tracker having certain unpleasant features. Looking around a bit more there's

People still use that website?
It does what every other torrent site out there does - mostly adverts. Why use that instead of official, trusted sources?
Back in the day it was broken, corrupted, and outdated isos.
