Nothing nefarious. People do have lives; well most do. It may be unusual to not have any posts for a day or two, but it isn't out of the question. We aren't a giant forum with LOTS of members logged in all the time.

I reviewed a beginner's guide on using commands at Konsole that I wrote (in the How-To's), and see a few typos and enhancements I should make.
Does that count for activity?

I proofed again my how-to on using UEFI dual booting.

Well, here, a good laugh someone ...
To write a recent how-to (on using multiple ESPs), I did that,
on SSD and M.2., 2 disks, 2 ESPs, 3 OSs.
Well, in the process, ya know, I have a "main" OS here.
My 12.04 I should upgrade at least to 24.04.
You with me here?
So for my main OS on the SSD, at sda2, where is my ESP?
Supposed to be on sda1. Nope. I put it on that M.2., first partition ESP. Part of the experiment. Surprised/shocked me.
So now I gotta use that special grub command to create a new ESP NVRAM back to my sda1.
Or, at least I feel I should do that.

How 'bout that guys, does it count for "activity" around here? or entertainment, maybe? hot as hell here, 100.

I do take it that it's because for most times, Linux does just work. Agree with Snowhog there, if they are running Windows, then definitely they are having issues!

I've been busy setting up my desktop (updated in my signature) along with a whole list of other projects around the house. I'm finally using a desktop I purchased in 2016. My wife used it for Windows 10 when we couldn't buy new hardware. Windows 11 is out so I got my desktop from 2016 back for Linux. My wife gets the new desktop my daughter helped me build for her to run Windows 11 on. My daughter is into gaming and is pursuing an electronics degree in college so I let her do all the work. I'll get that one when Windows 11 is out of support. I get the hand-me-downs for Linux.

I had a couple issues with the XPS 8900 and almost posted questions for help but managed to solve one of them myself. I'll probably post about them anyway. I had one cpu running high at 75% that ended up being wireless card driver incompatibility and the /sys/firmware/efi/efivars directory that keeps filling. The latter issue seems to be benign.

I changed the wi-fi card in my laptop, Dell Latitude E6430s, and Kubuntu was good with it. I'll have to try harder to break things.

Now I'm off to do yard work.
