    Name for Kubuntu 25.10

As we approach the official release for Plucky Puffin 25.04, I decided to see if the name for 25.10 had been released and to my surprise it is at this site: https://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2025/04/...uesting-quokka. So as you will see it is Questing Quokka.

A Quokka is a small wallaby, that inhabits islands and swampy areas in southwestern Australia. Their natural facial structure, particularly the shape of their mouths, gives them the appearance of a perpetual smile, which has earned them the reputation as "the world's happiest animal".

Friendly evaluate Kubuntu 25.10 Questing Quokka

After having been given a name, Kubuntu 25.10 is now able to be downloaded and installed. I have it now installed and working. I am doing this post regarding the release of 25.10 on this forum topic because I was not able to start a new post on this forum.

The Info centre for Questing Quokka is shown below:

One reason I did this at such an early stage of development, was because it would not be that different to Kubuntu 25.04 and not give a lot of problems. No doubt there will be development issues because of the use of "rust" for development. To give you an idea of what is ahead this quote is relevant regarding Ubuntu which also applies to Kubuntu.

"Ubuntu 25.10 should also be quite notable in plans to use Rust Coreutils by default in place of GNU Coreutils. Ubuntu 25.10 will also likely be using Dracut by default. Plus we'll see what other new optimisations and Rust changes may land this cycle."

So, for adventurous forum members, Questing Quokka should add features provided by the canonical software developers. Another related comment I found relating to Ubuntu is:

"After all, Ubuntu 25.10 is the final short-term support release before the next long-term release (Ubuntu 26.04). It’s the last chance to add major, controversial and/or future-focused changes to allow for thorough testing."

So enjoy, as much as possible, Kubuntu 25.10 progress to its release in October.
