Hey QMike. I played with boot-repair. I'm up and running now. Thank you for the invaluable advice. You REALLY got me out of a tight spot.

Out of laziness, I think I would try Boot-Repair.

    https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Boot-Repair

(rather to try to somehow do it manually; or you could chroot & reinstall grub, but that's what Boot-Repair will do anyway)

Okay I made a little progress using testdisk. I was able to get the drive up to a readable point. However the drive is no longer bootable. This isn't REALLY a problem i have a new drive ordered and it should be here Tuesday. In the meantime i would like to know out of curiosity is it possible to rebuild the boot partition while keeping my data?

Is it permissible to link to an external site here? I found a site that appears to have some info which may or may not pertain to my current predicament?

I know there's always photorec but i don't have a pen drive large enough to backup my main drive. Is there a way of recovering JUST .SH files?

    Fdisk wrong partiton. HELP!

hi guys, i really messed up this time. I accidentally ran fdisk on my primary drive. I don't care about most of what i have but there is one folder with some script and coding that I'm lost without. Is it possible to do a non-destructive kubuntu 24:10 install without losing all my stuff? I'm a heart beat away from a coronary guys!!!
