GG; thanks for info on N-Acetylcarnosine (Can-C). I don't have cataracts at this point, but I might live long enough for them...

In the U.S. the laser cataract surgery is totally free as in no money paid by the patient if one is on medicare / medicaid and has supplemental insurance.
NO PAIN, one sees a red light and that is it.
      absolutely life changing results.
where before one was caught in a view of gray and brown, AND DID NOT KNOW IT, one then has an explosion of colours, especially blues.
I got the two lenses one of distance and one of kind of medium and because I followed instructions, I can read close, quite a bit, if extensive then I have a pair of readers. One can work on a computer for medium periods of time before one's eyes get "sweaty" ( my perception ) and then needs a pair of readers.
I can view stuff in a microscope if that helps.
And my distance view is just...amazing...
"intermediate viewing of a cell phone IN A CAR" can be frustrating but again, I have a pair of sunglasses that are clear glass above and the intermediate view in the bottom quarter precisely for stopping and responding to messages.
