    Think it's American owned?

It amazed me how many of what I thought were solid American brands are owned by Chna.
Musk, for example, owns only 21% of Tesla. China owns a chunk of the rest.
Is anything of significance owned by Americans and made in America?

If it's a public traded company, it doesn't have an owner, it has thousands/millions of "owners" from around the globe. That's why these companies have zero morality because they are only guided by their primary function.

Publicly traded companies have Board of Directors normally but the Board is often tied to the will of the investors and their primary goal is not the good of a Company, Nation or anyone except the investors. And most of them just want profit at any cost. So I don't hold out much hope for those corporations that make choices based only on the bottom line. There are a few companies around still owned and operated by families or individuals that are truly American owned. You normally won't find them listed on Wall St. This list may be out of date but it's a start.

It's funny that you should cite Forbes as a source. The number of "American" companies owned by foreign owners and/or governments is more than most Americans realize. It's why I state that in many ways America is a wholly owned subsidiary of China Inc. Here is number 12 in that list
        12. Forbes

Original Headquarters: Jersey City, New Jersey
        Purchased By: Integrated Whale Media
        Country: China

The first issue of Forbes was released back in September of 1917. Over the past 102 years, it has grown to become a trusted publication that holds definitive rankings of both companies and celebrities, while also maintaining popular lists like 30 Under 30 and World’s Most Powerful 100 Women.
        ...

Although it’s often seen as an American publication and it is still operated in the US, the company hasn’t been American-owned for quite some time. In 2014, Hong Kong-based company Integrated Whale Media Investments bought the magazine for around $400 million. However, readers probably haven’t noticed the difference.

I did not know that it had been bought out. Thanks for the update
