For Fox news, you get what Murdoch, the Koch brothers and the like paid for. (Which, to most outside the US, even conservatives, is contemptible rubbish. As it is even for Fox presenters, if they're caught off guard.)

This. To an American it may be hard to conceive... but people in the west, even the most "stupid" of them will know how "stupid" the news on Fox would be. Talking about Europeans mostly, I guess. It is hard to explain to an American the perspective of being outside of America, if they have never been outside of it (in their minds) as well. I guess.

Excusing Fox for their misinformation by saying they're all biased is a cop-out. IMO, I suppose.

Oh, no, those of us who "know" see it, those of us with even half a brain see it clearly. We live in a country of followers. At the moment, we have people following far right Tea Party politicians--extreme Christian politicians mind you, who are anything but Christian--into some scary corners of the mind. The problem is that they believe it to be news. There are millions of Americans who are convinced that Fox is the ONLY news channel.

The problem is that people like to be told what to think. Otherwise we'd have to actually research the subject which takes time and effort. Liberals, just like conservatives, are vulnerable to this. Just look at all the riots going on like in Ferguson, MO and Baltimore over the those two criminals getting killed. No one who's protesting has actually looked into the cases.

Sorry, but you can never convince me that this isn't the fault of both sides, that liberals are somehow more righteous or intelligent than conservatives are. Both are just people, and people generally have the same vulnerabilities.

I would half to say that even a caught red handed killer should not die at the hands of the police(after in custody) or be left to die unattended by his/her own hand wile in the custody of the police or authorities this would make the police/authorities the criminals in my eyes .

Which explains why violent protests might be the only way to effect change. If you've spent most of your life on the receiving end of violence in the name of "authority," peaceful protests aren't going to achieve much. Sometimes a riot is necessary. Let's not forget how the fledgling colonies finally wrenched their independence from Britain.

Woody, reading your posts from a meta-angle, it's pretty clear to me that you watch ALL this stuff regularly and too much, you know too many names to drop, that's the tip off. The sh*t is poison. At some point you have to turn it off, sit in a lawn chair in the/a/some yard, do nothing, sit in silence, alone, watch the birds, read Breakfast with Buddha (after reading Don't Sweat the Small Stuff--and it's all small stuff), never drink until 4:30 pm, and never mix wine and beer.

Woodsmoke, do you realise that what people call the far left is what we call the far right in Europe? What is Right in Europe is what you consider Left. Hence people in Europe don't even take the Far Right seriously (or what you call the Far Right). They don't even take the Right any seriously or what you call the Right. Rightwing in Dutchyland is what you call Left. That is how far America has shoven to the right, the centre in America is not even considered in Europe because it is too far to the right. Personally I don't watch the news at all, too much "Hearsay"...
