Telikin a touch computer for "seniors".

This is reviewed as being pricey for the performance but it is a "touchscreen"....kinda tablet thingy that is a monitor, processor all in one.

It is running a Linux called TinyCore.

Don't know about the horsepower in terms of running Kubuntu's plasma etc. but, just providing links, I ran across it at OMG Ubuntu.

    Teliken Main site

The "open source" link at the site which discusses TinyCore, etc.

Anyone who would care to comment is encouraged to so do.

Looks very limited. For the target market, old people with little to no computer experience, it might be fine, but anyone else would probably be better served by a real computer.

The $700 machine is a 1.8GHz Intel dual core with 2GB of RAM
The $1,100 machine is a dual core also with 2GB of RAM.

The big difference is the 18" vs the 22" machine.

Should work fine for Grandma and Grandpa Sixpack.

Many of these 'old folk' machines are maintained by way of a subscription that also includes a help desk and a portal or dashboard type internet access, what makes these severely limited machines also expensive.
