As most things these keys are stored in an editable text file but I wouldn't be surprised KDE5 has migrated to something else.

(Meaning: I haven't had the time or inclination to check)

As Neon is setting up a custom set of environment variables, to keep it separate from stock, I will bet that any issues like these that we see are due to desktop configs being in two different places. I wonder if many of these go away installing KF5 natively (or in a vm)...........

I would sooner think they haven't yet implemented all options.

And with the presence of QT 5 I ran into another issue while trying to compile KDEconnect it failed on the presence of two QT libraries.
The usual ways to point it to QT4
          Code:
          export QT_SELECT=4
          or
          Code:
          export QT_SELECT=4' or 'cmake -DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=/usr ./ -DQT_QMAKE_EXECUTABLE=/usr/bin/qmake-qt4
          did not work.

          Again, no time to investigate.

I was surprised when I booted my system this morning that the HP symbol was in the system tray. I still get the HPLIP Status Service message which I do not exit but put in on the panel. I find it usefull to have quick acces to the HP options to check on the printer status.

              How I Delayed Screen Locking

I originally installed neon5 about a month ago and I experienced boot problems with this system which also had utopic installed. I decided to do a fresh install of both systems. For neon5, I used the iso file neon5-201408010814.iso.

This is now all working much better and the boot problems are gone. One aspect of neon5 that frustrates me is the need to frequently Unlock the Screen. I thought that I had nailed this problem by de-selecting System Settings > Power Management > Screen Energy Saving as well as Suspend session. This did not solve the problem.

The solution that I have found to work is in System Setting > Display and Monitor > Screen Locking. I have set the value of Lock screen after: to 99 min. It only allows 2 digits and this is the maximum value allowed.

In a home environment I do not need to have the screen locked afte 5 minutes which is what was set originally. I am probably not the first to find this solution, but for those who haven't and are frustrated by this feature, I hope this is of use.

                Hah, the screen locking.
Try with 0 seconds, it'll morph into Never

Hello. I've tested it today the coexisting ppa on my Kubuntu 14.04 install. Project Neon looks promising and I overall like the path choosed by KDE developpers, but it didn't quite work in my machine mostly due to weird and teared up screen and fonts. One question: does the plasmoids showed at http://kde-apps.org/ work on Frameworks 5?

No, most plasma widgets from kde 4 won't work, as far as I can see.

There still are a number of the stock widgets not yet in kf5, but that is changing as updates to that come in.

In kde-apps, the widgets are all user created, and with kf5 being so new, people haven't started creating for it that much, yet.

Indeed, I use hplip and on boot up it complains it can't find a System Tray.

                          Yup, this is a thing

It will be interesting to see how this plays out or is addressed. Luckily, in Ubuntu, we have libappindicator, so it will be the third-party things that will need to adapt, such as Skype and hplip.

Those who don't use or build against libappindicator (Fedora, I think) will have fun with getting gtk apps into a Plasma systray.

I have always encountered this problem and I find that the HP icon is also in the System Tray and all I do is keep the error message by putting it on the tray and the HP icon stays. If I exit the error message the HP icon also goes.

Conquered the Clock Widget Position Movement

For some time now I have been frustrated by the lack of usefull widgets. Those that are there I find difficult to use. At last I have now been able to move the analogue clock to the right side of my desktop. I firstly changed the size and added the second hand. I then clicked on the centre of the bar that gives the movement and edit options and dragged it to the right side of the screen. If I drag the bar past the edge of the screen, this bar is no longer accessable for changing position. In the attached image, you can see the outline of the window around the clock. The background is part of an Australian sunset sky.
