Both Ubuntu (there wasn't a separate entry for Kubuntu) and KDE did quite well.

    Re: LinuxQuestions.org Polls

I only boot into Windows to use CorelDraw (I use this without thinking) and Unigraphics 3D CAD (can't get this to work under wine) for everything else Linux all the way. I have set my daughters machine to dual boot kubuntu and Win2K, normally she uses kubuntu. I have my wifes laptop dual booting XP and kubuntu, she normally uses kubuntu too. My son only uses XP because many of his games aren't penguin friendly. My machine is dual boot XP and kubuntu but all the games that I play are penguin friendly (Quake3Arena, UrbanTerror, RTCW, EnemyTerritory, TrueCombat:Elite, UT2004 and various mods for that too...more than enough FPS to keep me happy). I love the customisation, the ability to use GUI or CLI for tasks is great too. I must admit that XGL/Compiz are full of novelty factor but hey it blows XP out of the water everytime.
KDE 3.5 RC1 and Dapper Drake....waiting for it to implode
