I have been using Nobara for a while because all Ubuntu flavors could not get my Intel GMA 45000 to do 3D acceleration. However, yesterday I finally found the fix. It's the renderer. I just need to switch the Xorg server to use UXA mode. Nobara has no support for the server, but Kubuntu does. I just need to switch to x then and an Intel config file, then reboot. Unfortunately, the installer keeps failing with exit code 1. I can't get it to install the grub config. Probably something stupid I keep missing, but what? Yes, it is the amd 64-bit version, and yes, I ran the 256 hash.

[Pre-Install] Install failed on grub install
Just to remind users and devs that Ubuntu and its flavors have a long way to go to be as usr friendly as they should be.

Exit code 1 is usually "not enough space". If you give some info on your boot and partitioning set up, scheme, and sizes maybe someone can help.

Look at the space used/remaining on the / partition.Windows no longer obstruct my view.

I got it sorted. I was using Nobara to see if I could get better gaming than Kubuntu, which doesn't let me game at all, but later found that I needed to use the Xorg server and create a config file to switch to UXA rendering mode. Nobara requires UEFI. Nobaraa was working, but I was having several problems... (UEFI) When I tried to install Kubuntu 25.04, I kept selecting Replace partition. I realized my mistake and selected the erase option. It is bootable now. I tried switching to UXA rendering mode, but now, when I use cat /var/log/Xorg.0.log | grep -i "accel\|uxa\|sna" to check, it says: glamor. Does Kubuntu not have support for UXA, or is there an earlier version that will work? I used copy/paste for the console output, and it changed the font, and I can't figure out how to change it back. In case you forgot the other threads I have on this laptop, then the problem is 3d acceleration from my Intel GMA 4500 integrated GPU..
