[RESOLVED] How do I delete a existing SMB Share entry that is reported as not existing?

Click image for larger version Name:	SMB Share Refused.png Views:	0 Size:	103.4 KB ID:	691713
This SMB share is on my Desktop Kubuntu 24.04 PC. The reported smb address isn't/is no longer what my iMac says it is. I can still access the iMac from Kubuntu if instead, I enter the IP address in the remote field: smb://10.0.0.166

How do I correct the smb address on my Kubuntu PC?

Well here, I can right-click and select Delete. Does that not work for you?

      No.

I open Dolphin and split the screen. In the right screen I click on Network. I click on the drop-down arrow on Shared Folders (SMB) and two shared folders are presented, one of which is Paul's iMac
Double-clicking on that entry, or clicking on the > results in Could not connect to host for smb://pauls-imac.local/

When I look at Sharing on my iMac, my Computer Name is shown as Paul's iMac and says Computers on your local network can access your computer at:
      Pauls-iMac.local

Note that there is no apostrophe in Pauls-iMac.local, but the Shared Folders (SMB) reports the iMac as Paul's iMac, with an apostrophe. The screen shot above is what is presented when I try to delete the entry from the Dolphin display. When I try to delete, I'm first presented with a window that asks: "Do you really want to permanently delete this item? 'smb://pauls-imac.local/' This action cannot be undone." When I click on Delete Permanently the error shown above presents.

So it is my belief that some configuration file on my Kubuntu PC has the incorrect address for the shared folder on my iMac. What confuses me even more, is that it used to work, and I haven't done anything to muck with sharing on either PC.

Well, given observation, the issue appears to be with the VPN I run (Proton VPN). I disconnected it and tried accessing my iMac Shared Folder via Dolphin. This time it accesses it as expected.

        Google query and AI response:

Running a VPN on Kubuntu 24.04 interferes with your iMac shared folder access because the VPN "Default Gateway" setting routes all local network (LAN) traffic through the VPN server instead of your home router. This blocks your computer from seeing local devices on your 192.168.x.x network, making the iMac unreachable until the VPN is disconnected. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]

        Key Reasons for the Conflict:
        • Default Gateway Override: The VPN is likely configured to send all traffic through the secure tunnel, overriding local routing rules that allow your Kubuntu machine to talk directly to your iMac.
        • Split Tunneling Disabled: Without "split tunneling" enabled, the VPN ignores your local network traffic. <<<<<
I'm running the Free Proton VPN. In the free version, Split tunneling isn't available; I would have to purchase VPN Plus. Not a problem. When I want to access my iMac from my Kubuntu PC, I'll just disable the VPN, or I'll just access is via smb://ip address directly.
