I'm attempting to trial Kubuntu but having a real struggle to get my second, HDMI, monitor working. I'm also having the same issue in Mint and Antix.
System details are:
Operating System: Kubuntu 25.10
KDE Plasma Version: 6.4.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.17.0
Qt Version: 6.9.2
Kernel Version: 6.17.0-5-generic (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: Wayland
Processors: 4 × Intel® Core™ i5-7200U CPU @ 2.50GHz
Memory: 8 GiB of RAM (7.6 GiB usable)
Graphics Processor 1: Intel® HD Graphics 620
Graphics Processor 2: AMD Radeon R5 M445 Series
Manufacturer: Dell Inc.
Product Name: Inspiron 5567
The HDMI monitor is a Lenovo C22-10. Both it and the laptop screen are 1920 x 1080
After installing from USB (legacy boot, UEFI doesn't work) on the laptop screen everything is as normal. However the HDMI monitor shows a pretty spash screen but gets stuck there: no menus appear, no GUI or text prompt, the mouse doesn't show, it's dead. However, the laptop is nevertheless connected to the Lenovo. In Kubuntu the Identify Monitor flashes up the correct name on both screens. Antix has a text-based system monitor, and this (only) does show on the Lenovo. In Mint if I fiddle round with the resolutions then the GUI does appear on the Lenovo but it is completely distorted and I can't find any combination of resolutions that works on both laptop and Lenovo.
I wan't sure which other parts of the Kubuntu system information to download, though of course I can. Meanwhile here is what Antix reports in the hope it may be some use meanwhile.
