I am loath to say this, but Outlook Desktop's calendar had one feature that I liked: reminders for calendar events would pop-up and stay on the screen until the user addressed them. But my university has switched to Outlook Web app, which doesn't seem to have that, nor does Gmail. Is there a calendar app that will run on Linux that will behave in a similar way?

You probably need to look for a Gmail/Calendar Plasma Widget. -
I was not successful in finding a widget, but I stumbled upon Rainlender2, which appears to do what I need. I want to do a bit more testing with it before marking this thread solved. Thanks, oshunluvr.Comment
