libqt5gui5-gles removed most of Plasma [SOLVED]

I made a big mistake (while trying to fix K3B)...

I looked up optional files to install regarding K3B -- one of them was libqt5-gui5-gles. I *chose* to install this file which removed several files. Without carefully checking, and assuming that they were being upgraded, I installed the program.

It removed most of Plasma and I was left with grub and command line. I then installed kde-plasma-desktop and kde-full.

I'm still left with a strange install -- for instance, the log in screen is now a giant qwerty keyboard and a number of icons are missing.

    Am I missing something?

You are missing the main Kubuntu meta-package.

Try installing kubuntu-desktop. That should pull in the rest of the items you may be missing.

I forgot to say that I had installed that as well.

I created a backup of my /home folder using Kup and then reinstalled Kubuntu 22.04.3. After updating Kubuntu, installing a low-latency kernel, upgrading Plasma to 5.27, adding my various repositories, I restored my /home folder (using Kup) and I'm back in business!
