[SOLVED] No Input soud device detected in Kubuntu 22.04 LTS

Hello, I installed Kubuntu 22.04 LTS on my Chromebook by installing SeasBios on it and the sound is working but the microphone isn't.
Have someone an idea on how correct this ?

It may be difficult, or might simply not be supported. Chromebooks are not like normal PCs, with most everything is in the chip, as opposed to separate components. Many Chromebooks simply don't have any sound support, period, mainly due to Intel not providing the firmware driver blobs or proper specs and sources

This highly depends on the specific system board used, so some model numbers and hardware info would be helpful. (hint hint )


You might use alsamixer in the terminal and see if it hasn't been simply disabled.

fwiw, this problem will be a general Linux one, not specific to Kubuntu.

And when I launch pavucontrol, in input devices, it say "Monitor of Celeron/Pentium Silver Processor High Definition Audio Stéréo".

I've an Acer Chromebook 314 (Droid) on which I installed SeasBIOS with MrChromebox script.
It has an Intel Celeron N4020 CPU @1.10GHz.

Thank a lot for your response ! I've launched this script : https://gist.githubusercontent.com/u.../gistfile1.txt, rebooted my computer and now 2 input devices appears and when I come in Discord for example and I come in a voice channel, it's working !

I need to get back in to x86 Chromebooks, I did enjoy tinkering on them. it is good to hear that there is finally better audio support on more recent models!
