Seems like there is a probably a "faulty" source if you go to Discover -> Settings. Try to spot the source mentioned in the error and disable it.

Thanks. I tried the suggestions. Sadly the list of errors just grew bigger fo sudo apt-get update

      Code:

PS : I re-enabled " Partners " seeing this error. But it is still the same. And " Other software " says " cache cannot be updated ". It last updated when I disabled " Canonical Partners ".

A quick search for "InRelease' doesn't have the component 'partner' (component misspelt in sources.list?" should give you some ideas.
Also one for "ubuntu restore repositories".

Still, you could try getting your current /etc/apt/sources.list out of the way (as in sudo mv /etc/apt/sources.list /etc/apt/sources.list.old) and add the "proper ones" with Discover or other tools, like Muon or software-properties-gtk.

Of course, which are the "proper" ones... looks like you would have to add the google-chrome repo again, but not much more.

              Thanks @Don.B.Silly

I have no idea what to do. I cannot fix it without step by step instructions. Nevertheless, I will try to find an answer from search as well. Appreciate your help.

Please post the complete output of
                Code:
                grep -Ev '(^#|^ *$|deb-src)' /etc/apt/sources.list /etc/apt/sources.list.d/*
Someone reading it may have some suggestions.

Do you actually need any software from the Canonical Partner repo? These warnings are from that optional, and usually dead repo, or at best extremely outdated software.
Disable it as I showed previously, and you should be good to go.

the partner repo only contains google-cloud-sdk and adobe flash, which has packaging available in the normal repos.

I know nothing about what they do. I got this error and was worried. Let me disable it and check. I panicked the last time.
