Wired connection works on startup, then deactivates

    Hello,

I recently installed Kubuntu 20.04 on my PC in a dual-boot configuration with Windows 10. My wired connection (Broadcom NetXtreme BCM5762) works with no problems under Windows 10. Under Kubuntu, it works on startup, but anywhere from 1-45 minutes in, it deactivates, and there is no visible option to reconnect. I have installed a usb wifi adapter that seems to be stable, but I prefer to use the wired connection on this computer.

I'm including the output of various commands to help diagnose. Please let me know if I should include other information.

I was confused at first about how I missed this, then realized I had only done general searches, not with my hardware - thanks for digging up the obvious for me, it's been working perfectly for about 90 minutes so far.

Glad it's working - hopefully for good.

I always start with the most specific search possible, when work my way toward generlization as needed. Seems to work well most of the time. IME, network device issues tend to "expire" as newer kernels come out. Likely, you won't need that option within the next few months. Broadcom seems to drag it feet when it comes to kernel compatibility for some reason.
