[Network] Networks system tray status indicator shows as disconnected (little red X) even though it's connected and working.

I just upgraded from Kubuntu 25.10 to 26.04 yesterday night. I'm encountering a few bugs.

The Networks status indicator in the system tray shows as disconnected, even though my ethernet connection is connected and working.

For the record, I am using Proton VPN and it is connected and working fine. It used to show the connection status as connected before on 25.10.

Is there a way to reset the status? Maybe clear some files in my home folder? Can it be fixed?

if you are on wayland (probably are ) , 1 ; run :

systemctl --user restart plasma-plasmashell.service

2 ; reset plasma's caches :

rm -rf ~/.cache/*

see if icon changed
