    [System] Copy and paste broken

I cant copy an image online and then past it anywhere with in this OS(25.10). When I right-click and select paste, brings up a ridiculous dialog box where I have to fish through the file types and select the one I needed every time,

I've done at least thirty separate suggestions in my searches. I've been at this for four days, So please give me the first 10 to 15, and I'll go through them. I have to know now, I can't believe that I can't get something like this, in the latest version kubuntu to work. When it was just there 20 years ago.

    Here is what I've tried,

Switched from wayland to X11 back to wayland and back to X11, now.

Tried a different, brand new, with brand-new batteries mouse.

    Tried all usb ports.

Load tested CPU and memory, system is rock solid.

At least thirty restarts, including a few from power off state.

This sounds like a browser problem. Here, using Vivaldi browser, I right-click on just about any image and I'm presented with a list of options such as "Copy image URL", "Save Image As...". etc.

IMO this has nothing to do with the "OS".

I have to fish through the file types and select the one I need every time, It simply will not paste the image, it brings up a dialog that asks me to select a file type every time.

What I want, is to be able to copy a picture from my browser to a folder on my OS, i.e. pictures. Without having to select the file type every time. If this is not possible, then please tell me and I'll give up.

Now I'd like any suggestion on how to get right click back on desktop also.

I have no idea what you're seeing because I've never seen it.

          What browser are you using?

Yes, that's what I get. If I could find a way to make my selection permanent would be ideal.

I don't believe this is an issue with Kubuntu. If you have an image file (.jpg, .jpeg, .png or what not) on your computer, navigate to it in Dolphin. Right-click on it and select Copy. Now go to another folder, or go to your Desktop and right-click. You will now see a Paste One File in the list.

I think what is happening, is that images you find online, even if the displayed URL indicates it is a .jpeg or other known image file extension, likely isn't. That's why you are being asked to choose when attempting to paste; the system doesn't know what type of file was copied to the Clipboard.

I'm using google photos to test this, they are all jpeg, I can mimic right click copy and paste by saving instead, and the saves as a jpeg automatically. With copy and paste, I have to select the file type jpeg and then it will paste.
