[Desktop] How do I open a folder as root?

    Asked kindly:

As a Kubuntu and Linux beginner, I am wondering how I can open a folder as root with Dolphin. Specifically, this one: /snap/vivaldi/322/opt/vivaldi/vivaldi

I would like to insert two files there, window.html and custom.js.

I don't use snaps, but I think you can't do that, or at least it would be wiped out by an update and/or might break the snap. The purpose of snaps is to not allow or require user intervention or editing.

I've been using Vivaldi for years and am very happy with it. I suggest removing the Vivaldi snap and installing Vivaldi from source if you want/need to make custom changes: https://vivaldi.com/download/

Thank you very much for this thought-provoking suggestion!!! I installed Vivaldi as .deb. Now I was able to install my .js modifications. I have been using Vivaldi since spring 2018 and am also very enthusiastic about the Vivaldi browser.

This is what my Vivaldi browser looks like on Windows:

For the benefit, perhaps, of those who find the question, I'll hazard an answer, as there is one now for 25.10:

In dolphin, right click and choose "Open as Adminstrator". A popup (that I found easy to miss) will ask for authentication with your password, and you get an admin window.
