    Re: Konsole error on startup

Some days ago I had a problem with the filesystem ext3, and I should reinstall kubuntu.
I thinked that was an excellent ocasion for try other systems.
I have a permanent home partition.
I tried to install Vector Linux, but installation fails for video driver problems.
    Quickly I reinstalled kubuntu.
Maybe for this reason I have problem with console?

The following is another problem that I have with console.

The program 'fsck' is currently not installed. You can install it by typing:
    sudo apt-get install e2fsprogs
    bash: fsck: command not found

The path for any program is not set correctly.
    Can you help me?

Nice try the .bashrc file you've posted originates from a Novell Suse system, right?

(As the /etc/profile.d concept for the most part is foreign to Debian and (K)Ubuntu ...)

I didn't, really. I think possibly something either modified a config file, or something changed during an upgrade.

One config file is called .bashrc. a hidden file found in your home dir, as well as one called .profile. If these exist, there may be something in there looking for something in /etc/profile.d, which it cant find as it doesn't exist

Yes, Konsole works perfect. Only this message at beginning of each session.
What file do you say to modify?

I am not sure, but something is looking for /etc/profile.d which (at least on my fresh Feisty install here) does not exist, so perhaps something added/modified to your .bashrc or other config file is the culprit? Does Konsole work fine otherwise?
