install disk not reading on boot

I checked that it burned the image properly, but this is a very old European blue and white iMac G3, heavily upgraded and repaired so .....

the install disc shows on the desktop, reads fine there, but sys prefs doesn't show it as a possible startup disk, and holding "C" doesn't boot from it. i burned the live ppc disc, so it should boot into live mode, but won't do anything.

i haven't tried anything yet, but will listen for suggestions while i check in previous version pages for the same problem, thanks!

You may be able to get the option of booting from the disk if you hold the "Option" key down while booting. No guarantees though, good luck and welcome to Kubuntu on the PPC if it works out!
