powermac G3 keyboard not working

Hi I have tried to install kubuntu edgy eft latest beta on a powermac G3 blue and white. As its loading it says something like "can't allocate" and it goes off to the next screen so quickly I can't read the rest. However it does boot up into live mode but I don't have a keyboard that is usable. That is if I type a key it just repeats that same key in a loop. The keyboard is the apple keyboard that came with the computer its usb. the mouse is a pc mouse and its usb and it is plugged into the keyboard and it works fine. Any ideals? I can't install until I get this fixed.

Try a different USB keyboard. My USB keyboard works fine on a notebook, but I pluged it in just after Kubuntu installation.

I did didn't seem to matter. I redownloaded kubuntu Edgy Eft but this time i used the alt one and it seems to work fine.
