    Kubuntu on a powerbook 3400c/240, using Quik Loader

    Hi,

    I've just installed Kubuntu on my (crappy) laptop, the install went thru A-OK, right up until the end.
    The installer did not install a boot loader

    I have BootX on a macos 8.5 partition but whenever i try to boot the kernel that is precompiled on the disc, using hda8 as the root partition it cant mount the partition, wich is a ext2 part.

    i was running debian on it for quite some time, with little troubles other than random kernel panics.. but thats another story

    I want to install Quik, but im unsure on how i can do that.

    does anyone know of a ppc live cd maybe, that i could boot to and mount my root partition? or any other ideas that may be able to help me out here..

      DarkNoise can you write up that tutorial on using Quik? I have a PowerCenter Pro 210 with a tiny 2GB HDD so I can't afford to waste space on using Mac OS 8/9 as a bootloader!

      If I follow this install guide: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Installation/OldWorldMacs and and get Kubuntu installed, would it be possible to install Quik from there? Possibly using apt-get or something similar? Could I then boot into Kubuntu using Quik and remove Mac OS?
