    Turion disaster from hell!

Hello and Wazzz up my Kubuntu Peeps.

I got a new laptop which has a AMD Turion ML37 CPU and a ATI 200m EXPRESS video chipset and other stuff that I don't think is relevant to this issue.

First off I had Breezy on my old laptop and I loved it and it was great.

So my issue is I took the Kubuntu 64bit cd and tried to install but when I pressed enter it just went through its list and stopped at:

[ 22.526754 input: AT Translated set 2 keyboard on isa0060/serio0

So I was like great then I tried ubuntu 64 and got the same thing
So I tried both ubuntu and kubuntu 64 live cds and got the same thing.

So what is going on here?

That sounds like a keyboard problem. I assume, however, that the laptop runs windoze out of the box? If not, take it back wherever you got it. I also assume that your CDs work on other computers? If not, reburn them. However, if all four CDs are failing at the same point, I think you've got either a HW problem or the laptop is incompatible with Breezy. In which case you could try (a) Dapper, knowing it's not ready for prime time, or (b) something like Knoppix. Every computer should be able to run Knoppix.
