I have a Hard Disk Space Usage widget on my Primary monitor. This monitor has a UHD screen, 3840x2160, and I have set it to 2560x1440. I find this setting gives acceptable icon and font sizes.
However with this setting, my Hard Disk widget changes position on reboot. It initially starts at the original position before logout but then quickly jumps to another nearby location.
I have found that if I go to the UHD screen size, it doesn't change location on reboot. To me it looks like KDE have not used the selected display settings in System Settings but have used the maximum resolution for the monitor.
Another feature that I believe is related to this, is the fact that when I often start applications on my primary monitor when it is at 2560x1440, the title bar is off screen and I have to select Move to get access to the application control buttons.
I am not sure if this is a Kubuntu or KDE problem. I have found bug reports related to this problem, but what I have described here is not as "serious" as the ones I have found. If there is some easy way to fix this layout problem, please let me know.
