    Honestly, I've never heard this stated before nor are than any references I can find on the 'net stating definitively that BTRFS uses your battery drain faster. The only power usage references I've seen are on the order of +/- 0.5%, a negligible amount IMO. I wouldn't automatically assume that BTRFS is the cause. Frankly, if your battery life is so poor that a file system choice makes a difference, your problem isn't going to be fixed by improving your CPU cycles by less than 1%. Is seems more logical that you're running services you don't need or use or you need a new battery.

    I'd suggest starting a thread of you own concern battery life and see what you can find yourself on the web. For example, video cards, monitors, and poor video drivers are well know to be battery hogs.
