    [GRUB] grub screen displays after last update

    I am running Kubuntu as the only OS and prior to yesterday's upgrade grub never showed itself, now it does.
    Is there a way to turn it back "off".

        Code:
        GRUB_DEFAULT=0
        GRUB_HIDDEN_TIMEOUT=0
        GRUB_HIDDEN_TIMEOUT_QUIET=true
        GRUB_TIMEOUT_STYLE=hidden
        GRUB_TIMEOUT=0
        That looks correct. And then you did run
        sudo update-grub

        right?

            Could this be related to my issue?

            What's the timeout in seconds when you first see the menu? If it's 30, it might be the same bug.

              BTW, sudo update-grub and sudo update-grub2 are exactly the same thing. The second command only exists to maintain backward compatibility from when grub 2 was new. It's just a link to the first command:
              Code:
              lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 11 Jan  9 14:04 /usr/sbin/update-grub2 -> update-grub*

                It might be, it just seems very strange that things were fine until the latest dist-upgrade

                  Ah, yeah, on 1-31-19 (2 days ago), there was an update to GRUB.

                    Well that makes sense as today was the first reboot since that update.

                      Circumstantial, but it looks like it may have caused a couple bugs, here and yours (verified by another poster in your thread); so we can be hopeful and watch for another GRUB update very soon.
