HO scanning spamming the notifier?

It seems the that with 18.04, my HP printer (8720 all-in-one) sends an inordinate amount of messages to the notifier. Like two or three per job - which wouldn't be too bad except, at least when scanning, EACH page is a job. I scanned a seven page double-sided documents this morning and got like 20-30 (too many to count) messages about it. This is definitely a change from previous years. It is a new printer and a new OS and a new version of HPLIP so I'm at a loss where to start to reduce this. My preference would be a single notification at beginning and end or even just the end.

Anyone else bugged by this?

I just set the HP-Systray to only show errors and warnings so that should help I hope.

So with "Errors and Warning Only" I get no messages from the printer. With "All" selected, scanning a 7 page document gets this:

This was from using "Simple Scan" so maybe it's the program doing that.


I was rather hoping for a happy medium.
