    Evolution 3.26.1

    Hi,
I have installed Evolution 3.26.1 with Kubuntu 17.10. It runs. But I cannot open links to websites. I always get the message "Could not open the link" and "Operation not supported". Evolution 3.22. had no problem to open links to websites. How can I open links that are inserted in emails?
    Kind regards,
    Sigurd

Since Kubuntu is built on QT and Evolution isn't, you might be missing some GTK stuff. What the output of:

    gvfs-mime --query x-scheme-handler/http

      Hi oshunluvr,

This is the result of gvfs-mime --query x-scheme-handler/http:
      gvfs-mime --query x-scheme-handler/http
This tool has been deprecated, use 'gio mime' instead.
See 'gio help mime' for more info.

      gio: Unknown option --query

      Usage:
      gio mime MIMETYPE [HANDLER]

Get or set the handler for a mimetype.

If no handler is given, lists registered and recommended applications
for the mimetype. If a handler is given, it is set as the default
      handler for the mimetype.

      Kind regards,
      Sigurd

Ok, so use gio to set the mimetype handler. I don't haave gio on my system, but I assume it's something like

gio mime http <path to firefox desktop file>

          Solved

          Hi oshunluvr,

Thank you for your help. I appreciate it very much.
I was trying many things with such a link and i found out how it works. In previous versions of Evolution I simple made a left double-click on the link and the default browser started showing the linked webpage. If I do so in this recent version of Evolution I am getting the message I told about above. But if I make a right-click on the link a fly-out menu appears with a line for opening the link in the browser. And that menu option works. So, everything is fine and works.
          Kind regards,
          Sigurd

            Hi,
since I had to reinstall Kubuntu completely new links embedded in emails do not work at all. So I went to the mail-list of Evolution. I got the advice to install gvfs. I checked it and it wasn't installed. I did the install. Now everything is working fine. With a left double-click on the link in an email the default browser starts and shows the right website.
            Finally the problem is solved.
            Regards,
            Sigurd
